WHAT I LEARNED FROM 5 YEARS INTHE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY
It feels so nice being back, I’ve missed being able to just share my thoughts with you guys. Today I’m here to share some recent events and life lessons I’ve learned recently. If you follow me on Snapchat, then you might have already had a taste of what I’m about to talk about. If you don’t, add me; ngwiayim.
with that said, let’s get to what’s on my mind. So I’ve been working in the entertainment industry in Gothenburg, Sweden for about 5 years now and it’s been really rocky, but not as disappointing as some of the people in the industry. I’ve been so angry at many of the players in the industry for so many reasons, it even got to the point where I didn’t want anything to do with the industry.
I’ve realized that kindness in this industry makes people treat you as a fool. They want to be paid for their services but don’t want to pay you for your services. That’s when I realised, there’re no friends in business because it’s all about money, influence and power. So I learned that it’s not the industry alone that was at fault but me too. I realized I’ve been selling myself cheap in the name of loyalty. So learned I have to know my worth, add tax to it and never settle for less. I know there’re many ladies and gents like me in their various fields feeling the same way I’ve felt this past months. Hopefully this post wakes you up from your slumber and inspire you to ask for what you deserve.
Laugh when you can, Apologize when you should and Let go of what you can’t change.
